Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are you a part of a chain or national center or school?
No, we are privately owned by one individual. This allows us freedom in developing school wide policies rather than being dictated to by a corporate policy.

2. Do you have to be potty trained to attend preschool?
No, we prefer to make decisions on placement of your child based on discussion between parents and staff.

3. Are there requirements to move to a new classroom? Do you have to move?
No, we prefer to make decisions on placement of your child based on discussion between parents and staff. The only limitations are in state required limits where infants and toddlers require more space and different care ratios than older children.

4. What are your ratios of staff to child, and the ages of the children in each classroom?
The following are state required guidelines. Kid's Learning Connections meets and exceeds these ratios at all times.

  • INFANTS: Ages 6 weeks to 1 year: 4 to 1
  • TODDLERS: Ages 1 year to 2 ½ years: 4 to 1
  • LITTLE PRESCHOOLERS: Ages 2 ½ years to 3 years: 8 to 1
  • PRESCHOOL: Ages 3 years to 4 years: 10 to 1
  • PRE-K: Ages 4 years to 5 years: 10 to 1

5. Will we have the same teacher all day or do they float all around?
Kid's Learning Connection has developed a schedule to minimize teacher burnout by limiting shifts changes to 2 staff per day excluding emergencies, weather problems, etc.

6. Will my child repeat the same curriculum in preschool or pre-k if he is there all day?
No, we have specially designed our curriculum to vary the morning and afternoon sessions so that ½ day children do not miss out and that full day children have different art projects, activities and games.

7. Will you be serving lunch?
Yes. We have a hot lunch program that is prepared and served each day. The cost is a minimal $1.50 per lunch per day. Our food is prepared fresh at the school and does not come from a box.
